Back at WWU for one final semester . . .only 103 days to go! Returning back to school was strange as I came back once classes had already begun. The day I returned the weather was very hot and it was a trial just to unload and unpack a few suitcases and boxes. After leaving the NY weather where it was in the 50’s at night with a high of 75 to 80 during the day, 100 degrees plus was insane. I ran into a few old friends and briefly caught up with them about our summers, but I still wasn’t mentally ready to embrace being back. True to typical fashion, Meghan and I went out to Bek’s to catch up over a glass of wine. We commiserated over our shared animosity towards WWU and our great desire to be elsewhere. The first few days of classes have passed in a blur and nothing seems unmanageable. The best moments of course have taken place at the barn catching up with horsey friends, and getting to ride the Fresian Corey in class. He is a different ride, and will be a challenge, but it will be a good learning experience. Currently sitting in English class, already finished with the days assignment, and clearly making good use of my time. Since WWU is celebrating Labor Day, one of the few holiday’s it observes, we are class free this coming Monday. Hoping to return home for the weekend to pack a few more things and just relax after not being home since Christmas break. Still missing friends from NY, and not entirely enjoying school but trying to make the best of the situation and observe as much horsey knowledge as possible.
